Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home Pharmacy Reopens

As of July 1, the LDVA’s Southwest Louisiana Veterans Home has an in-house pharmacy again! “After 22 years of practicing pharmacy, I have learned many things about not only the profession of pharmacy but also about caring for and loving the people I serve,” said Pharmacist Vince Clark. “It is certainly an honor to return to the SWLVH to care for our Veterans and I feel very fortunate to have the chance to do this again,” he said referring to the fact that he was the original Pharmacist at the Jennings, La., home back in 2004. Danna Benoit also joins the SWLVH team as a Pharmacy Technician. “It is a complete honor to be tending to the medication needs of our Veterans,” she said. “It’s the least I can do for the men and women that have served our country to keep us safe and free.” The LDVA continues to deliver valuable services, in a professional and steadfast way, to our Louisiana veterans and their families. Plans are in the works to re-open the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Home in Monroe and at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home in Bossier City Pharmacies by Oct. 1. “Bringing the Pharmacy back to our SWLVH is a big win for our Veterans,” said SWLVH Administrator Matt Duhon. “I admire our new LDVA Administration for taking the steps necessary to return the Pharmacies to all 5 our State Veteran’s Homes. We strive to provide the highest quality of healthcare to our Veterans in their time of need. Having an onsite Pharmacist to provide our Veterans with their medications in a timely manner is and added benefit to reach our goal of meeting all the needs of our Veterans.” #GeauxLDVA
