Shreveport Veterans Lunch & Learn

SHREVEPORT, La. – Veterans are cordially invited to the Shreveport Veterans Lunch & Learn being held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at American Legion Post #14, located at 5315 South Lakeshore Drive in Shreveport, La., on Wednesday, July 24.

Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Joey Strickland will be the keynote speaker, and several of his key team members will be there to brief on their areas of responsibility, and to answer questions.

“For us, every day is Veterans Day and every day is Memorial Day,” said LDVA Secretary Joey Strickland. “My Department is participating is these events, which are being held across the state this year, so that we can hear the needs and concerns of our veterans, and can continue to help make each of their lives better.”

There is no registration needed or cost associated for veterans to attend this event. Several local organizations will be setting up resource tables during throughout the luncheon.

“What makes me happy is helping someone every day with any concerns they may have regarding their benefits.,” said U.S. Air Force Col. (Ret.) Steven DePyssler regarding his commitment to sponsoring the Shreveport Veterans Lunch & Learn. “This (LDVA) program does it greatly.”
