Monroe Veterans Lunch & Learn: LDVA hosts last veteran’s luncheon of 2019

MONROE, La. – Veterans, their families, veteran service organizations, and community members are cordially invited to attend the Monroe Veterans Lunch & Learn being held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1809, located at 1499 Highway 594 in Monroe, Louisiana, on Wednesday, Oct. 16. The lunch is being sponsored by Sam’s Club.

“Sam’s Club is honored to be a proud supporter of all of our veterans,” said Shannon Taylor, Sam’s Club #8237 Marketing Team Lead. “We wish to thank these men and women for the many sacrifices they made for both our country and our freedom.”

Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) Secretary Joey Strickland and several of his key team members will be there to brief on their areas of responsibility, and to answer questions.

“For us, every day is Veterans Day and every day is Memorial Day,” said LDVA Secretary Strickland. “Our Department is participating is these events, which were held across the state this year, in order to hear the needs and concerns of our veterans, and so that we can continue to help make each of their lives better.”

There is no registration needed or cost associated for veterans to attend this event. Several local organizations will be setting up resource tables during the luncheon.

“Our post is proud to partner with the LDVA on this important event, and to be able to continue to help veterans in need,” said VFW Post #1809 Commander Chris LeGuin.
