BATON ROUGE: The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA), in partnership with the Baton Rouge Bar Association, is facilitating a free legal clinic at their East Baton Rouge Parish Service Office on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

The Pro Bono Project provides walk-in legal clinics two to three times a month at several locations throughout the greater Baton Rouge area.

Volunteers provide civil legal advice at various social service agencies including: Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Baton Rouge, the Charles R. Kelly Community Center, the East Baton Rouge Parish Branch Libraries, and now the LDVA.

“Ask-A-Lawyer” is a first-come, first-serve community service. Volunteers provide legal counseling and advice to low-income clients on matters of civil law only; no criminal matters.

The clinic will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the LDVA’s East Baton Rouge Parish Service Office, third floor, 1755 Florida Blvd.
